Individual Coaching with a focus on Connection & Rewilding
This is where building the Connections with Self, Others and Nature comes in!
Throughout this era of increasing disconnection in numerous ways, it is more important than ever to get in touch with who we really are, how we really want to engage with others and to intensely experience nature around us as a partner in therapeutic, learning, working and socializing processes.

I am offering a range of Individual Coaching options, where I use various techniques to develop and/or increase that Connection with Self, Others & Nature!

Wherever possible, I'll facilitate interventions to take place in "Natural Environments".
This can look like we're venturing out into "The Wild", eg. a "Walk & Talk" session, a "Play in the dunes" session or a "Rewilding Event: in one of our local Wild Nature Areas.
At the same time, it can look like a visit to one of your "Natural Environments" where the challenges are taking place, eg. your home, your work, Kinder, School, etc...
Or it could look like a session that takes place in our Food Forest & Sensory Garden, in our Mobile clinic or so much more!
Finally I could also "Connect & Rewild" with you online!

As a Connection & Rewilding Coach I want to empower individuals to Connect and find the Wild within and outside of themselves and I encourage them to use Nature and Natural Approaches as a partner in their therapeutic processes.

Parent/Carer Coaching with a focus on Connection & Rewilding
WHAT?

Parent/Carer coaching sessions are a form of coaching that allow parents or carers to feel empowered and to be upskilled, so that they can provide the interventions that their child/loved one needs with support from an experienced coach thus guiding them through the therapeutic process.
It could look like a session with both parents/carers and the child/loved one or one parent/carer and the child/loved one or only the parent/carers together or by themselves...
Or it could look like a session where any of the approaches above are blended together.
The possibilities for a using a parent/carer coaching approach are endless.

PURPOSE?

The purpose of Parent/Carer Coaching Sessions is to address any challenges that need resolving by collaboratively problem solving the areas of concern with the parents/carers (and child/loved one) by coaching them to implement effective and tailored therapeutic approaches in their daily lives with their child/loved one.

HOW?

The therapeutic effects of Parent/Carer Coaching Sessions has the potential to be much greater than a classic one-on-one child/client-coach approach. Any recommended interventions can be implemented into the child's / loved one daily routines by the family and it can be part of their normal everyday life, wherever they are.
If we would compare a classic 1-1 child/loved one - coach fortnightly coaching session in a clinic vs. a fortnightly 1h parent/carer - coaching approach, the therapeutic effects would be much greater and longer lasting for the parent/carer coaching approach.
We could be looking at in 1 hour of "therapy" for your child/loved one per fortnight, where the generalisation of skills might be limited and progress might be confined to the therapy session vs. an opportunity to empower parents/carers who feel supported by Soetkin to implement tailored therapeutic strategies into their child/loved ones' everyday lives, eg. at a rate of 2x 15min of "therapy" daily, potentially resulting in 7 hours of effective therapy per fortnight.
This also could also make it a very cost-efficient way to achieve therapeutic benefits.

Depending on the area that needs to be addressed, we can use a variety of approaches to tackle the challenges at hand:

-
facilitation of self-expression (verbalizing thoughts and feelings)
-
collaborative problem exploration
-
collaborative problem solving coaching
-
direct skills training
-
increasing self-awareness of own functioning
-

-
exploring and coaching around social and pro-social skills
-
supporting / training higher level thinking and problem solving skills (cognitive and executive functioning skills)
-
functional assessment to gain insight in functioning and recommendations re: remediation of issues
-
development of metacognitive skills (thinking about your thinking)
-
awareness of own learning style (strengths and challenges)
-
sensory processing assessment + interventions / recommendations
-
